About the Developer

I'm a Meteorologist working as a Meteorological product manager, and one of our specialized products is tidal data and tidal modelling. This professional background gives me unique insight into the complex patterns of tides and coastal conditions that affect the Holy Island causeway.

I grew up around Holy Island and my family has run three hotels there for years — the Manor House, the Ship, and the Lindisfarne Inn. Safe crossing times have always been part of daily life for us, just as they are for everyone who lives on or visits the island.

Through our hotel guests, I've seen firsthand the confusion and sometimes fear many people experience when trying to understand how the causeway works. Many visitors are anxious about getting stranded or missing their crossing, which can detract from their experience of this beautiful island.

That's why I created this app - to make crossing the causeway easier and simpler for everyone. By providing clear, real-time information about tide times and crossing status, I hope to reduce the stress and uncertainty that many people feel, allowing them to enjoy their visit to Holy Island with confidence.
